Day 38: Fort Hancock, TX to El Paso, TX

Another rather uneventful cycling day. Only 50 flat miles to El Paso with a wind blowing strong behind. Healthy speed was made through the pecan tree plantations and into El Paso by the early afternoon.

Alan is putting us up for the night. He's a great host and runs a printshop and has a load of other interesting things on the go around the shop like a nice maker-space next door with 3D printing machines and drones and fun stuff. It was good fun to hang out with him and his friend JJ.

There isn't a great deal to do or see in El Paso so we hung about at a couple of bars and made friends with a few locals (and a shitfaced ex-drug smuggler at the end of the bar).

We briefly toyed with the idea of hanging around for another day and crossing over into Juarez, but decided crime-riddled Mexican border towns don't interest us quite enough to stay.

Onwards to New Mexico tomorrow. Texas: done.
